The first BIG aviation event of 2024 is fast approaching – Sun ‘n Fun – April 9 – 15, 2024. The Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association (LAMA) is happy to support the Flying Musicians in the LSA Mall in Paradise City during Sun ‘n Fun.

We will be under the blue Star-Tent provided by the DeLand Airport. The stage this year is provided by the Midwest LSA Expo. The Sound System provided by BOSE will be powered by Honda with an Eu2200i generator. Sennheiser and SONY microphones will be available as will AirTurn mic stands. A huge thank you to Lockwood Aviation Supplies for storing and transporting the PA system.
Life member Gary Filip will coordinate music and will have his Roland PF-7 keyboard available all week. Student member Seth Filip will have a drum set available too. Drummers bring your sticks! We will also have available an acoustic and acoustic-electric guitar as well as an electric bass. Come and play!
To date, Denny and John have agree to be at the tent all week to provide daily outreach with Impromptu music and lots of hangar flying. Want to help? Members are providing music for the “Sport Aviation Industry” reception on Wednesday (4/10) evening. Downbeat at 5:00pm. Sign up now (contact John@FlyingMusicians.org).
New this year! In addition to FMs performing impromptu, we have scheduled musicians to perform daily from 5pm (after the daily airshow) until 7pm when the STOL Demo flying begins. Below is a list of those signed up. Want to participate? Contact us!

- 5pm Tuesday & Thursday 4/9 & 4/11 – FMA Brass – Inviting all brass players (and others) to perform… bring your horn and or mouthpiece (players may, at their discretion, allow others to use their horns).
- 5pm Wednesday 4/10 – Life Member Gary Filip will lead the band. To participate, contact Gary.
- 5pm Friday 4/12 – Byron & Nancy performing country classics.
- 5pm Saturday 4/13 – Sound circle along with pizza and beverages then stay to enjoy the night airshow.
