FMA, founded in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN #80-0433326) for pilots who are also musicians that welcomes all proficiency levels and musical genres. It’s the passion for aviation and music that counts! The skills required to play an instrument and fly an aircraft have marked similarities, from precision and multitasking to listening and fine motor skills. But that is not all. By educating others about these common attributes, we hope to further interest in both. We strive to share our passions in order to inspire, educate, and encourage others by creating enthusiasm and promoting personal growth through presentations, performances, networking, and scholarships. For an in-depth list of the correlations between aviation and music, contact Education@FlyingMusicians.org.
