Jocelyn BewMy Air Force JROTC unit just had our annual change of command and awards night. This year, I have been serving as our support squadron SNCO. I assisted my Officer in Command (OIC) with leading admin, logistics, and protocol. My new position is the OIC of Operations Squadron. In this role I will be leading our field days, Thanksgiving day food drives, Christmas charity events, and all of the flight commanders and sergeants. (pictures at bottom ) Lots of Flying Musicians will be at AirVenture 2023. Several changes this year. Many have asked why not move the open mic/jam to Friday? Done. Same location (Forum tent in Ultralight area) at time (8-10pm). Taking its place on Thursday evening will be the start of something new coordinated be member Mike Dewey. Mike will coordinate an Irish Trad session (more below). Two notable musicians are unable to attend this year – John Vining (North Central Ambassador) and Gary Filip (Life Member). What a banner year! Having received nearly triple the nominees of any of the previous years, the process to select finalists was a long and arduous task. Many nominees found the checklist to be important and followed it to the tee. Some decided, after reflecting, that perhaps this wasn’t something they really wanted.
