Live Music at OSH

We are back! AirVenture 2022 was as normal as can be expected after what the world has been going through. The FMA Open Mic/Jam hosted by the Ultralight folks was once again a successful gathering of pilot/musicians and live music fans. A huge thanks to John Vining, Josh & Becky Homet, and many others who assisted. Hartzell Propeller once again donated to FMA in return for music at their Props & Hops gathering. Flying Musicians Entertain at World Helicopter Day

Lead by FMA Northeast ambassador and Julliard Professor Greg Knowles, pilot/musicians will once again perform at World Helicopter Day at Stewart Int’l Airport (KSWF) in New Windsor, New York hosted by Independent Helicopters. On Sunday, August 15, 2021, Independent Helicopter opens their doors to the community and students attending the BE INDEPENDENT Aviation Camp. This successful camp gives campers an inside scoop to the adventurous world of aviation in all aspects. FMA members welcome all musicians and especially pilot/musicians to share their passion for aviation and music with all attendees.

Orange County Fly-In, Cookout, & Jam Session

Join your fellow aviation enthusiasts and musicians for a day at the airport from 11:00AM until 2:00 PM on June 12, 2021 (rain date June 13, 2021). The Orange County Airport (KMGJ) is the perfect setting for food, fun, and music. This free event for the public, hosted by the Orange County Pilot’s Association along with the Flying Musicians Association and Pilot Fun 101, has something for everyone. Sun ‘n Fun 2021

Sun ‘n Fun is a GO for April 13-18, 2021 in Lakeland, Florida. FMA will have a stage with our wonderful BOSE sound system powered by a HONDA generator. World Helicopter Day 2020 Recap

World Helicopter Day is literally, held all around the world in August, celebrating helicopter flight. The New York area WHD is held at Independent Helicopters at Stewart International Airport. This was a double celebration because Independent Helicopters owner and chief pilot, Heather Howley, was celebrating moving into a new building / hangar / flight school. Helicopter and airplane CFII Greg Knowles gave an FAA Wings program on Pinch Hitter for helicopter passengers. After a post by Greg on Facebook, it was suggested that Flying Musicians Association should provide music for the event.
