Lead by FMA Northeast ambassador and Julliard Professor Greg Knowles, pilot/musicians will once again perform at World Helicopter Day at Stewart Int’l Airport (KSWF) in New Windsor, New York hosted by Independent Helicopters. On Sunday, August 15, 2021, Independent Helicopter opens their doors to the community and students attending the BE INDEPENDENT Aviation Camp. This successful camp gives campers an inside scoop to the adventurous world of aviation in all aspects. FMA members welcome all musicians and especially pilot/musicians to share their passion for aviation and music with all attendees.

World Helicopter Day is literally, held all around the world in August, celebrating helicopter flight. The New York area WHD is held at Independent Helicopters at Stewart International Airport. This was a double celebration because Independent Helicopters owner and chief pilot, Heather Howley, was celebrating moving into a new building / hangar / flight school. Helicopter and airplane CFII Greg Knowles gave an FAA Wings program on Pinch Hitter for helicopter passengers.
