Ceremony Honors World War II Airmen Lost at Brooksville Army Airfield By Mark Stone with the Hernando Sun Aviation enthusiasts, history buffs, students, and local dignitaries gathered outside a modest hangar at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport on September 30th to mark the 80th anniversary of a tragic aviation accident that still haunts the airport’s history. Floor Opens for 2024 Scholarships

FMA is accepting nominees for the FMA Solo program and applications for the FMA Swing Wing scholarships. The FMA Solo program enters its tenth year having awarded fifteen scholarships to date. In addition to the scholarships, each nominee is onboarded as a student member of the association. Through generous support of the aviation and music communities, all who complete the checklist receive welcome packages and their student membership is FREE for the duration of their academic career. World Helicopter Day was celebrated at Independent Helicopters, Stewart International Airport, Newburgh, NY. For the 4th year several members in the New England performed for the attendees. Member Sal Lagonia on Trumpet, Sharon Siodmak on Drums, Roger Astudillo on Bass, and Ross Pilot (FMA board member) on Guitar/Vox. Greg Knowles (Northeast ambassador) provided the audio equipment.

Announcing the Flying Musicians Swing Wing scholarship to the NY Hot Jazz Camp in New York city. We are proud to offer a music scholarship in addition to the annual Learn to Fly scholarship – FMA Solo program. This scholarship is open to all Flying Musician members 18 to 28 years old (under 18 with parental consent may be considered) with a basic proficiency on their instrument.
